Naftali Bennett's B'Yachad party said Sunday it will recommend Yashar! leader Gadi Eisenkot to President Isaac Herzog as the candidate to form the next government. The Democrats under Yair Golan are expected to do the same; Avigdor Liberman has not said whom he will back. United Torah Judaism decided not to recommend anyone for now, party sources told Ynet.
Asked in closed-door talks about a unity government with a rotating premiership, Netanyahu said: "We are examining everything. I am not completely ruling out any option," Ynet reported. He has not commented publicly, and an associate said no unity proposal has been made.
Herzog's consultations with the parties begin Wednesday.
Update, Nov. 2: Democrats leader Yair Golan voiced support for Eisenkot on Monday after video showed a small crowd of Netanyahu supporters outside Eisenkot's Herzliya home chanting "You murdered your son" and "traitor." Eisenkot's son Gal was killed fighting in Gaza in 2023. Golan blamed Netanyahu's "poison machine," Ynet reports.
