Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) dismissed Democrats' calls to impeach Secretary of War Pete Hegseth on Fox News' "The Sunday Briefing," in a clip shared by @EricLDaugh.
"No, it's not going to happen. On what grounds? You impeach for criminal activity or something. What did he do? He followed the president's orders," Burchett said.
"Iran has nuclear capabilities. We know that," he said. "Do we really want Iran with a nuclear bomb? That's the question you need to start asking."
Burchett praised the administration's economic pressure on Tehran, saying the Iranian currency is "not worth the paper it's printed on. We have economically shut them down. We need to tighten that noose a little bit."
House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries has said he backs an impeachment push against Hegseth. Democrats take control of the House in January.
