Rep.-elect Anthony Constantino, the Sticker Mule CEO who plastered a giant "Vote for Trump" sign on his Amsterdam factory, told the New York Post that refusing to distance himself from the president is why he held New York's 21st District while Republicans were wiped out elsewhere.
"I stood by the president. I stood by him doing good things," Constantino said. "I just try to be authentic, be honest. I'm not just trying to sell them a line of BS in order to win a seat." He said Trump was right that more candidates who fought with him would have had better outcomes.
Constantino defeated Democrat Blake Gendebien about 51–49, roughly 6,000 votes, in a district Trump carried by about 20 points when Elise Stefanik held the seat. He self-funded about $17 million. He enters the House in the minority and says he wants Republicans to listen to how he ran.
