Ex-Squad Cori Bush registers as foreign agent for West Bank 'fact-finding' missions

FACTS

Former Squad member and Missouri Democrat Cori Bush registered under the Foreign Agents Registration Act to help run "educational fact-finding missions to the West Bank" for a Belgian nonprofit, according to Justice Department filings highlighted Friday by JNS.

The Chicago-based Truth and Conciliation Commission, the International Federation for Rights and Development, and Bush filed an Oct. 26 memorandum with DOJ. The paperwork budgets Bush $6,000 a month for three months, plus $5,000 for FARA registration and $2,000 for compliance reporting — $25,000 total. The commission plans to invoice the Belgian federation and pay Bush contingent on grant and donor funding; the federation would cover approved delegation travel.

Bush's listed duties include contacting at least 200 people — primarily current and former members of Congress — in November and December, coordinating visits, and providing briefings. The filing names Stephany Spaulding, a former Democratic candidate, as the commission founder and Gamaal El Attar as executive director. It says the services may include preparing materials that "promote Foreign Principal's interests."

Bush, who lost her House seat and has repeatedly blamed AIPAC for her defeats, posted from Judea and Samaria in October that she was there to "stand with the Palestinians who are being attacked by (invaders) settlers."
