FACTS
The Crown Iris, a Mano Maritime cruise ship carrying mostly Israeli passengers, was held at the port of Syros on Tuesday after an anonymous warning claimed a device had been attached to its hull. The ship has 940 passengers and 597 crew aboard. Greek coast guard officers, sniffer dogs and divers searched it, and the first checks found nothing, Greek outlets report.
The ship was due to leave for Haifa, about a 24-hour trip, and arrive Thursday. There was a protest against the ship in Ermoupoli, the island's main town, and authorities banned a second demonstration.
The warning came on a day when at least seven flights in Europe also got bomb threats. The Crown Iris has drawn protests at Greek ports before.
