El-Sayed puts hands on Sky News reporter hours before Michigan Senate win: "I absolutely do not care what you think"

FACTS

Michigan Sen.-elect Abdul El-Sayed had a combative exchange with Sky News correspondent James Matthews hours before his Tuesday victory, placing both hands on the journalist's shoulders and telling him to stop "chasing" him, video shows.

El-Sayed asked if Matthews was registered to vote in Michigan, then said he did not care to speak with a UK reporter: "You know how many votes I want to get in the U.K.? Zero." Matthews said U.S. elections matter globally; El-Sayed scoffed that Sky News is barely watched in the United States and said he had "answered all the questions" for UK viewers. Sky News backed Matthews: covering U.S. elections for audiences in 138 countries is the job. El-Sayed's campaign did not respond to Fox News Digital. The Democrat had another tense exchange with Matthews a day earlier over Haley Stevens's endorsement of Republican Mike Rogers, and has drawn scrutiny for a pattern of hostile media clashes.
