Explosions rock Iran's Qeshm Island and Jask port on the Strait of Hormuz, Iranian state media says

ATTRIBUTED CLAIMS

Two explosions were heard on the eastern side of Iran's Qeshm Island on Saturday evening, Iran's state news agency IRNA reported, followed shortly by several more blasts near Jask port in Hormozgan province on the Gulf of Oman.

IRNA's reporter on Qeshm said the impact was inside the island, on its eastern side. Iranian outlets gave no cause, and there was no word on damage or casualties. The U.S. military had not commented on the new blasts.

Qeshm, the largest island in the Persian Gulf, sits at the mouth of the Strait of Hormuz. President Trump said earlier this week that U.S. forces carried out "minor strikes" there, knocking out an Iranian anti-aircraft system "in about 15 minutes." This story is developing.
