FBI: North Korean hackers behind record $6.3 billion Binance heist

FACTS

The FBI said Saturday that North Korea's TraderTraitor hacking group, the same actors behind last year's $1.5 billion Bybit hack, carried out Thursday's theft of $6.3 billion from Binance, the largest crypto heist on record.

The bureau asked exchanges and analytics firms to block transactions linked to the stolen funds. Binance says it can cover 90% of the missing assets and will fully reimburse customers.

Asked about it Saturday night, Trump said, "We don't know if it's North Korea," while adding that it could still be determined, AP reports.
