FACTS

A Learjet 60 flying from Austin, Texas, to North Eleuthera in the Bahamas crashed near a residential neighborhood in Palm Beach County around 12:50 p.m. Sunday, the FAA said. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said all nine people on board died.

Gov. Ron DeSantis called the crash "cataclysmic" and said there were no reports of injuries on the ground. Air traffic audio captured a crew member reporting ice and turbulence before declaring a mayday, NBC News reports.

The victims have not been identified. The FAA and NTSB are investigating; no cause has been determined.
