Four explosions heard on Iran's Qeshm Island Sunday evening, Iranian state media says

ATTRIBUTED CLAIMS

Four explosions were heard on Iran's Qeshm Island on Sunday evening, Iranian state media outlet IRNA reported, according to The Jerusalem Post.

An IRNA correspondent on the island said some areas of Qeshm appear to have been struck by projectiles. The source and nature of the explosions have not yet been confirmed, the Post reported, calling it a developing story.

Qeshm, the largest island in the Persian Gulf, sits at the mouth of the Strait of Hormuz. Earlier this week President Trump said U.S. forces carried out "minor strikes" there and knocked out an Iranian anti-aircraft system "in about 15 minutes." Iranian state media also reported blasts on Qeshm on Saturday evening.
