FACTS
Israel's President Isaac Herzog received the official results of the October 27 election on Wednesday and began consultations with parties on who should form the next government.
Netanyahu's bloc won 53 of 120 seats, Gadi Eisenkot's bloc 48, and the two Arab-led alliances 19. Election officials said there was no evidence of irregularities.
Herzog told party leaders that "not every commitment and promise can be fulfilled" if they want to avoid a new election. The person he picks will have 28 days to form a government, with a possible 14-day extension.
