Gov. Kathy Hochul made a last Brooklyn stop Saturday at Windsor Terrace's East Fourth Street Halloween block party with Assembly Member Robert Carroll, handing out candy and calling early-vote turnout "unprecedented," Brooklyn Paper reports. Nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers voted early, about 567,000 more than four years ago, and Brooklyn led the city. "This marathon's over. Now we sprint to the finish line," she said.
Republican Bruce Blakeman spent Saturday in Queens and Manhattan. His last Brooklyn stop was Oct. 24 in the backyard of a Dyker Heights Knights of Columbus hall with Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, where he called Hochul "the worst Governor in New York State history" and pitched tax cuts he says would save families $2,000 to $7,000 a year. Malliotakis faces Democrat Mike DeCillis on Tuesday.
Polls are open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
