Israeli troops found hundreds of Hezbollah weapons and a roughly seven-meter-deep tunnel shaft stocked with medical and living gear in southern Lebanon, the Israel Defense Forces said, according to The Jerusalem Post.
Soldiers from the IDF's 188th Brigade of the 36th Division recovered RPG rockets, anti-tank missiles, mortar shells, firearms, explosives and ammunition in the Beaufort Ridge and Litani River areas. The tunnel shaft was found inside a civilian home.
The announcement followed an earlier find of weapons in the area on Sunday, also inside a civilian home. A video the IDF released then showed posters of Hezbollah figures, including former leader Hassan Nasrallah, on a child's bedroom walls. The 188th Brigade moved into Lebanon operations after about 20 months in Gaza and a training period, the military said.
