Iran's Qalibaf says it's up to the U.S. to prevent renewed war after U.S. strikes in the Strait of Hormuz

ATTRIBUTED CLAIMS

Iran's chief negotiator, parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, said Tuesday it is up to the United States to prevent renewed war, after what he called Iran's "firm and rational response" to Washington, AP reports. He did not elaborate.

His comments came after the U.S. carried out what it described as defensive strikes on some Iranian targets in the Strait of Hormuz. India separately reported that an attack on a commercial vessel off Oman killed an Indian national.
