Iranian officials are warning that the regime will fire missiles at Europe if European countries let the United States use bases on their soil to attack Iran, The Jerusalem Post reported Thursday.
Ahmad Bakhshayesh Ardestani, a member of the Iranian parliament's security committee, told Euronews: "If America uses its bases in Europe, including in Italy and Germany, Iran's missiles will be fired towards Europe." He said Iran held back from doing so in the two previous wars, "but this time, we will not let Europe's assistance to America for an attack on Iran go without consequence."
On Wednesday, the Tehran municipality-owned newspaper Hamshahri ran a map of Europe on its front page marking 15 potential targets from Portugal to Romania. British, German and Italian military bases were among them, including Britain's RAF Fairford.
The Post noted the EU is urging households to stock emergency kits for the first 72 hours of a crisis as cyberattacks hit retailers across the continent.
