Iran's Revolutionary Guards claim they downed three U.S. drones near Hormuz; no U.S. confirmation

Iran's Revolutionary Guards said Monday night that electronic-warfare systems brought down two U.S. MQM-170 reconnaissance drones south of Qeshm Island and that its forces destroyed an MQ-9 Reaper east of the Strait of Hormuz, the IRGC-affiliated Tasnim and Mehr news agencies report.

The Guards said they captured the two smaller drones, bringing to four the MQM-170s they claim to hold, and called the MQ-9 the 55th of its type Iran has destroyed, Iran International reports. There was no immediate confirmation from the U.S. military. The IRGC claimed a similar capture over Qeshm on Friday.
