Israel sent Lebanon a message through the United States asking that the Lebanese Army "redeploy and establish checkpoints in areas where Hezbollah elements are present," Israel's public broadcaster Kan reported, according to Naharnet.

An Israeli security source said the request reflects concern that Hezbollah "might open a front with Israel in the event it resumes its campaign in Iran." Israel warned that if Hezbollah joins the war, Israel's fighting in Lebanon will also resume, the report said.
