Central Elections Committee chairman Justice Noam Sohlberg said Sunday the Shin Bet's probe into suspected foreign funding will not overturn Tuesday's election. "Even if the suspicions are ultimately confirmed, this would not call into question the integrity of the electoral process or the overall results," he said in a video with the Shin Bet chief and the attorney general, AFP reports. "Suspicions remain suspicions."
The Shin Bet is examining whether the Arab-led Ra'am party received money from Qatar. Ra'am and Qatar deny it. Prime Minister Netanyahu's Likud has said, without providing evidence, that Arab parties "stole" the vote.
Separately, police arrested three people on Election Day carrying cash, on suspicion of buying votes for Ra'am. Ra'am denies any involvement. Results are due to be certified this week.
