Russian strike hits Kharkiv medical facility overnight; 62 reported injured, 200 patients to be moved

FACTS

Russian forces hit a medical facility in Kharkiv's Nemyshlianskyi district overnight into Nov. 3, and 62 people were reported injured, the Kyiv Independent reports, citing Mayor Ihor Terekhov. The count rose through the night: regional governor Oleh Syniehubov first reported 25 injured, and Terekhov later put it at 46, Ukrainian outlet TSN reports.

The strike hit a passage connecting buildings of the facility. More than 1,000 windows were blown out in the hospital and nearby apartment buildings, and about 200 patients are being moved to other hospitals. Terekhov said the city came under a combined attack of ballistic missiles and guided aerial bombs. Officials had not publicly named the facility as of early Tuesday.

Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, is about 30 km from the Russian border. Terekhov called October the worst month of the year for the city, with 153 strikes, 22 people killed and 287 wounded.
