70-year-old charged after video shows him slapping 18-year-old Turning Point volunteer at New Hampshire polling place

FACTS

A 70-year-old Laconia, New Hampshire, man has been charged with misdemeanor simple assault and disorderly conduct after video showed him hitting a young Turning Point volunteer in the face outside a polling place on Election Day, the Laconia Daily Sun reports.

Stephen Redic turned himself in Wednesday morning and was released on a promise to appear in court on Dec. 10, according to the paper.

The volunteer, Rainer Vesey, was at the Ward 5 poll on Tuesday afternoon representing Turning Point PAC with his brother Asher, who recorded the video. Police Chief Matt Canfield said the video is valid, and three witnesses spoke to police.

In the video, Redic says, "You sit there, and dare to look me in the face, and say I don't know anything?" before backhanding Vesey, who did not respond.
