Lakewood Planning Board OKs airport land change for the planned Medical Village

ATTRIBUTED CLAIMS

The Lakewood Planning Board has approved a lot-line change on Industrial Commission land at Airport Road and 1900 Cedar Bridge Avenue, with the larger lot set aside for "eventual medical village use," The Lakewood Scoop reports. No one from the public spoke, and the vote was unanimous.

The Medical Village is a planned outpatient campus of about 60 acres near the airport. CHEMED has said it would bring more than 50 specialties to one site, including primary and dental care, mental health, pediatrics, women's health, a standalone emergency department, a surgery center and radiology. It would not be a hospital, though CHEMED says it is talking with hospital partners. When the project was announced in May, it was still in due diligence and working through licensing.
