Lakewood: Republicans hold a 30-point registration lead, but only about 13% voted early

Republicans make up 47.8% of Lakewood's 66,903 registered voters (31,988), Democrats 17.1% (11,439) and unaffiliated voters 34.6% (23,129), according to registration figures obtained by The Lakewood Scoop.

Early in-person voting ended Sunday with about 13% of registered voters having cast ballots, compared with roughly 50% who voted early in last year's governor's race, when a communitywide push drove turnout to about 60% and more than 38,000 ballots. TLS says there has been no comparable early-vote drive this year.

Polls are open Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
