FACTS
Kentucky and Indiana officials reported heavy turnout Tuesday. As of the afternoon, the Jefferson County Clerk's Office said nearly 150,000 voters had cast ballots on Election Day, on top of nearly 72,000 who voted early, WDRB reported. Many used the county's new drive-thru voting site at the Kentucky Exposition Center.
Across the river in Indiana, a ripped ballot jammed a scanner at Jeffersonville High School in the morning, causing long lines for voters from four precincts. Voters were told to use an auxiliary ballot box; some waited until the machine was fixed so they could scan their ballots themselves.
Voters interviewed cited prices and the cost of living as the issues that brought them out.
