As the first polls closed, Rachel Maddow told MS NOW viewers not to expect quick answers. "We may easily not know the results in Alaska for at least a week," she said, adding that "it honestly may be weeks before we know the exact total number of House seats for each party."

"That's not a bug in the system, that is the system," Maddow said. "And anybody who tries to tell you that there's something suspect about that, that person's trying to pick your pocket."
