Mississippi Senate still uncalled as Scott Colom's lead over Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith grows to 1,138 votes

FACTS

Mississippi's Senate race remained too close to call Wednesday evening. Democrat Scott Colom leads Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith by 1,138 votes in unofficial results, 464,926 to 463,788, with about 95.6% of the expected vote in, WLBT reports. Independent Ty Pinkins has 19,934.

Colom's lead was 65 votes earlier in the day. WLBT reports the Secretary of State's office says it might take until next Friday to call the race, with affidavit and mail-in ballots still out.

Democrats last won a Senate race in Mississippi in 1982.
