NY attorney general: James leads Komatireddy by 15 in final Siena poll

FACTS

Attorney General Letitia James heads into Tuesday's election with a double-digit lead over Republican Saritha Komatireddy, a former federal prosecutor, in the final public polls.

Siena's Oct. 19-22 poll of 807 likely voters (margin of error ±4.1) had James ahead 54% to 39%, up slightly from 52-39 in September. James led 70-22 in New York City and 50-44 in the downstate suburbs, while Komatireddy led upstate 48-46. Komatireddy's favorability rose to 26% favorable and 15% unfavorable, with 59% still holding no opinion. An ActiVote survey of 400 likely voters (Oct. 12-26, ±4.9) had James up 56.5 to 43.5.

On Polymarket Monday, James was priced at about 95% to win.

James, seeking a third term, has made her more than 80 lawsuits against the Trump administration central to her campaign, Gothamist reports. Komatireddy, who worked in the Eastern District U.S. Attorney's Office under Presidents Trump, Obama and Biden, says the office has become too political and is running on crime, fraud and bail. She raised about $500,000 in the 11 days after the candidates' Oct. 8 debate, not counting public matching funds, according to state records cited by Gothamist. In her closing ads, she says she has visited all 62 counties.

Polls close at 9 p.m. ET Tuesday.
