FACTS
More than 1.1 million New Yorkers had voted by noon on Tuesday, amNewYork reports from city Board of Elections data: about 427,000 Election Day check-ins in the first six hours, on top of 690,526 early-vote check-ins.
Brooklyn led the city in early voting with 219,536 check-ins, ahead of Manhattan at 188,434, Queens at 162,914, the Bronx at 67,630 and Staten Island at 52,012, according to the Board of Elections. amNewYork says early turnout was up 60% from the 2022 midterm.
These are check-ins, not votes for any candidate. Polls in New York close at 9 p.m., and anyone in line by then can vote.
