Rick Scott: Senate should go back Monday and work every day — through the holidays — until Democrats are sworn in

FACTS

Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) wants Senate Republicans to use every remaining day of their majority before Democrats take control in January.

"We should go to D.C. on Monday and not leave until the Democrats are sworn in. We should be up there every day," Scott said on Fox News' "Saturday in America." He listed balancing the budget, permitting reform, election security and the National Defense Authorization Act, adding: "We have the power to do it right now."

"We know the Democrats are going to destroy the filibuster," Scott said. "Just stay every day, all through Christmas, all through Thanksgiving, all through New Year's, every day. Stay there. Get things done." The clip was shared Saturday by Eric Daugherty on X, as Senate Republicans also weigh delaying their leadership vote.
