The Shin Bet began transferring intelligence materials to police on Thursday in an investigation into suspected foreign interference in last week's Knesset elections, Ynet reports.
The materials, said to involve polling stations in Arab communities, are being delivered in stages, with more expected later Thursday and Friday. The transfer follows a request by Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara that Shin Bet intelligence go to a special investigative team that includes police.
The probe centers on allegations that foreign actors, including Qatar, Turkey and the Palestinian Authority, funneled money to people linked to the Joint List. Those allegations have not been publicly substantiated, and police said they currently have no plans to summon lawmakers, including Joint List MK Ayman Odeh.
The move comes after a public clash in which Baharav-Miara said Shin Bet had not transferred materials for two days and insisted that elected officials cannot be questioned under caution without an evidentiary basis.
