A tanker was hit by two unknown projectiles in its engine room about 14 nautical miles northeast of Lima, Oman, near the mouth of the Strait of Hormuz, the British military's UKMTO center said Tuesday afternoon. The ship's company security officer reported the hit. No one was hurt and there's no reported spill. UKMTO didn't name the ship or say who fired.
It's at least the third vessel hit off Lima since Sunday night. A ship 9 nautical miles northeast of Lima was hit by a single projectile that punched a hole in its starboard side, per UKMTO warning 193-26; its crew was safe. On Monday the Indian cargo dhow Al Jusufi was struck near Limah and one of its 14 crewmen died, India's government said.
Iran's Revolutionary Guards also claimed Tuesday that they shot down two U.S. LUCAS one-way attack drones over Bandar Khamir in Hormozgan province, Fars reported. There was no U.S. comment. Later in the afternoon, OSINT accounts posted video they said showed another drone going down near Minab. That hasn't been confirmed.
