Election Day check-ins from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Central compared with the same hours in 2024, per county data compiled by @ElectionWiz: Deep-red Montgomery County, north of Houston, is at 101% of its 2024 pace. Travis County (Austin) is at 95%, and Bell County at 87%.
Some counties are already past the halfway mark of their whole 2024 Election Day: Hays 57%, Ellis 53%, McLennan 52%. Dallas is at 43%. By 2:36 p.m. Montgomery had 37,609 check-ins, 64.8% of its 2024 Election Day total of 58,044 and 73% above its busiest early-voting day this year, per a count of the county's portal by @Freespeech212.
The forecasters still lean the other way. Decision Desk HQ's final forecast gives Democrat James Talarico a 60% chance in the Senate race and a 3.6-point lead in its polling average. On Kalshi, Talarico trades at 75%.
Update, Nov. 3 (afternoon): Dallas County had 80,238 in-person Election Day votes by 1:30 p.m. Central, 18.5% below the same point in 2024 (98,421), per county data compiled by @AndrewMillerSSC. Six of the county's 444 vote centers were still showing zero votes, so the real number is probably a bit higher.
