Search underway after two people go off the Tunney Bridge in Toms River; one rescued

Emergency crews are searching Barnegat Bay under the J. Stanley Tunney Bridge on Route 37 after a report of two people going off the bridge around 2:54 p.m. Monday, the Asbury Park Press reports. One person was pulled from the water and taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center and is reported in good condition, The Lakewood Scoop reports.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Office, New Jersey State Police, a Toms River dive team and fire boats are involved, with a State Police helicopter overhead. TLS says the search has become harder after dark. Traffic on the bridge was moving normally by about 4 p.m.
