Trump on election night: Republicans have "a good chance," and "we're not going to be embarrassed"

ATTRIBUTED CLAIMS

In a phone interview with CBS News on election night, President Trump said his midterm rallies "got the word out" and "got the enthusiasm out."

"I think the tour made a big difference," he said. "They were all massive rallies; they were big rallies. No one has ever done anything like it."

He said Republicans have a "good chance" of winning: "We have a good chance. But we're not going to be embarrassed."

Trump held 28 midterm rallies in states with competitive races from Oct. 1 to Election Day, plus 18 tele-rallies, according to an NBC News count.
