President Donald Trump on Friday morning amplified a Newsmax report arguing that he is "a winner" and "right about Iran," according to posts from Amichai Stein and Open Source Intel capturing the citation.
The move lands as Trump weighs whether to resume major U.S. military operations against Iran after midterm losses that both he and Vice President JD Vance have linked to the war's unpopularity. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has defended the campaign as a historic effort to keep Iran from a nuclear weapon, and Trump has said he is standing by Hegseth.
U.S. officials told Fox News that Trump met with his national security team Wednesday and Thursday and flagged a Nov. 9 new-moon window that may favor military operations. Trump told reporters Thursday he would "rather not destroy the rest of the country if possible, but maybe I will have to," and that the public would "know soon enough."
