Trump offers UFC boss Dana White the White House press secretary job — and a fighter entourage

FACTS

President Trump said Saturday he has offered UFC president and CEO Dana White the job of White House press secretary, asking him to bring a roster of fighters as "assistants."

"I am pleased to announce that the Great Dana White, a violent Fighter and Warrior, has been offered the job of Press Secretary of the United States," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "I have requested that he bring with him assistants, even though some are not from our Country, of Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harris."

"We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left. Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other. Dana, please take the job!" Trump concluded, posting images of growling UFC fighters and of White in a suit behind a podium. White has not publicly accepted. The offer came hours after Trump named Stephen Miller his new White House chief of staff.

Update: CNN, citing a source familiar with the matter, reported Saturday evening that White declined the offer; one aide said Trump was joking.
