University of Michigan student arrested after shoving and kicking Jewish conservative influencer Lizzy Benichou

A University of Michigan student was arrested Sunday after video showed her shoving Jewish conservative influencer Lizzy Benichou to the ground and kicking her on the Ann Arbor campus, Ynet and the New York Post report.

The confrontation began at a conservative activists' table with signs asking whether Islam is compatible with Western values. It turned violent after Benichou asked the student what would happen to her if she dressed that way in Iran. As police led her away, the student allegedly shouted, "I should've f---ing killed you when I had the chance," according to footage cited by the Daily Mail and the Post.

Campus police said officers saw the student assault a woman not affiliated with the university; the student was taken into custody, processed and released pending warrant authorization. Police reported no injuries; Benichou's manager says she hurt her lower back. Reports have not established that Benichou's Jewish identity was a motive.
