Russian bombs hit a school used as an aid center in Zaporizhzhia region, killing 24

FACTS

Russian guided aerial bombs struck a school being used as a humanitarian aid center in the village of Komyshuvakha in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia Oblast on Monday, killing 24 people, including two rescuers and four police officers, Ukrainian officials said, The Kyiv Independent and Interfax-Ukraine report. Five people were injured.

President Volodymyr Zelensky called it an "exceptionally horrific strike" and said Russia then dropped nine more bombs on a shelter in the area as emergency crews worked.

The strike came as Ukraine was also dealing with a cyberattack that knocked out emergency-alert apps, AP reports.
